Rishikesh is a small town near Dehradun in Dehradun district of the Indian state Uttarakhand. It is located on the right bank of the Ganga River which flows down from the Himalayas. Ancient sages and saints came here in search of higher knowledge and to meditate. Countless temples and ashrams are located on the sideways of the banks of the river. Rishikesh is called as the “Gateway to the Himalayas” and the “Yoga Capital of the World”. as well. Since 1999, Rishikesh hosted the annual “International Yoga Festival” on the first week of March. Hindu’s Char Dham Yatra i.e. the holy journey of four shrines starts from Rishikesh. This city is alcohol-free and vegetarian-only city.

Laxman Jhula connects two villages first Tapovan which is located in Tehri Garhwal district and second Jonk which is situated in the Pauri Garhwal. This is a very popular and older bridge on river ganga and this is a must visit place for tourists. Laxman Jhula can be located easily because it is one of the prominent landmarks of Rishikesh. This is on 70 feet above from the height of holy river ganga and the length of this bridge is 450 feet and it’s built up of iron.

Haridwar is widely known as a holy place of Hindus. This is the place where the river Ganges emerges from its origin Gaumukh (Gangotri Glacier) and touch the plains.
